One of the great lively outdoor games 4 year olds will enjoy. Especially when there are at least enough children to make 2 team.
You will need: Two large buckets Marked Team A and Team B, lots of soft balls.

Pin The Tail
This is a great traditional kids Games 4 Year Olds will just love playing. This game has been around for years and is great for tailoring to any party theme. Traditionally a Donkey was used, but you can draw any animal, see examples below. You can create your own large picture of an animal and you could have the birthday child help with the drawing and coloring in. This is a great party starter, as each child arrives have them pin the tail and announce the winner after all the guests have arrived and they have all had a go.

Games 4 Year Olds - Tips
Safety First.
If you're going to run a kids birthday party game in your own home, whether indoors or outdoors, make sure that tools and chemicals are put away.
Check that fences and gates are secure, especially the pool or pond area. Ask a neighbor to look after any lively pets. If you don't want your best china to get broken, or the expensive vase that your great Aunty Mabel left you, then lock it away!
Cleaning up.
Make sure that you have plenty of large garbage bags, for the disposable paper cups, plates and wrapping paper. I recommend Shindigz.com...Great Party Supplies at Low Prices
Also, stock up on paper towels because there will be food and drink spilt! Remind the children to go to the toilet, the best time is just before the birthday tea and cake comes out.
Tears, Tantrums and Crowd Control.
Even a small group of children will need some from of crowd control.
I made sure that the rules were clearly set out at the start. I had prizes for the winners and the runners up, as well as the one that came last! I made sure that everyone walked away with a prize. I was lucky that most of the parents hung around, so they helped.
If they start to get too wild, run a quiet game like
Pass the Parcel.
If a child is tearful, have an adult sit with them in a quiet corner or read a story to them.
Final Word on Kids Birthday Party Games.
Remember KISS- Keep It Simple Stupid.
Don't try to do too much, 3 party games maximum and have a plan. Don't try and do it all yourself, ask friends, family and other parents to help. Keep within 2 hours, 3 at the most. Remember to smile and look like you're having fun, because the children will pick up on your attitude. And don't forget to get all your party needs from Shindigz.com...Great Party Supplies at Low Prices,
