Kids Birthday Party Games
for Ages 3- 5 Years
Kids birthday party games for ages 3-5 years should be simple and not too structured. The only difference from a kids birthday party and a
is that you will probably want to have a theme to work around.
When selecting the appropriate
birthday party theme,
choose one that your child is currently interested in. I've listed a few ideas below.
Being a typical boy, at this age, my son was really into Superhero's. This is a great party themes for kids birthday parties, especially boys.
Costumes are readily available in the shops.
Choose from Spiderman, Batman, Ninja Turtles, Iron Man to name a few.
I'm sure your own son will have his own ideas!
For the girls, a popular theme from the age of 3 years is Fairies,
having a Fairy Party is easy and fun to do.
Although, if little boys are attending, then you might want to expand the theme. There was no way that my son would dress up as a fairy when he was 4 years old! Try Fairies and Elves, or Fairies and Frogs or Princes and Princesses.
Other kids birthday party themes that work for both girls and boys include, Dinosaur Party, Monster Party,
Animal Party, Circus Party.
Once you have selected the theme, tie in the invitations, decorations and party games to suit. For 3 year old party games, choose the tried and true favorites and you can't go wrong. And remember, keep it simple, only 1-2 games will be enough at this age!

Kids Birthday Party Games Tips
If you're going to run a kids birthday party game in your own home, whether indoors or outdoors, make sure that tools and chemicals are put away.
Check that fences and gates are secure, especially the pool or pond area. Ask a neighbor to look after any lively pets. If you don't want your best china to get broken, or the expensive vase that your great Aunt Mabel left you, then lock it away!
After a kids birthday party, make sure that you have plenty of large garbage bags, for the disposable paper cups, plates and wrapping paper. You can get all these from Shindigz.com...Great Party Supplies at Low Prices. Also, stock up on paper towels because there will be food and drink spilt! Remind the children to go to the toilet, the best time is just before the birthday tea and cake comes out.
Tears, Tantrums and Crowd Control.
Even a small group of children will need some from of crowd control. I used a whistle when I was running my sons 5 year old party games at a local playground.
I had 25 kids Aaaaaah! I chose some of the traditional party games for 5 year olds, listed above. I made sure that the rules were clearly set out at the start.
I had prizes for the winners and the runners up, as well as the one that came last! I made sure that everyone walked away with a prize. I was lucky that most of the parents hung around, so they helped.
If they start to get too wild, run a quiet game like Pass the Parcel. If a child is tearful, have an adult sit with them in a quiet corner or read a story to them.
