I kept everything simple, this was my first time at organizing birthday party games for toddlers after all. There were only 5 kids, I think it's a good idea to keep the guest list small, otherwise the children can get overwhelmed. Most parents will hang around when the party is for toddlers. So if you're having a 1st or 2nd year old birthday party, you will need to offer some grown up food and drinks for the parents. Remember keep it simple, it's a birthday party for toddlers not grown ups. You will find the extra hands a great help though, especially when you're running the birthday party games for toddlers during the day. Babies and toddlers get tired easily, so I held the party in the morning for about 1 and a half hours. This avoided the afternoon naps and also made catering for the grown ups easier. It was more like a morning tea than lunch. Some of my friends had small babies, so I prepared my bedroom so that they had a quiet space to feed, and also a space for the inevitable nappy changing. The decorations were simply balloons and streamers. I tried the party hats but they didn't stay on the kids heads for too long. It goes without saying that party games for toddlers need to be simple. Copy Cat Party Game Lots of actions for your little guests to follow. This one will help burn off some energy. Music and Dancing Everybody loves to dance so crank up the music for this fun lively music game. And Now For Something To Quieten Them Down This a is good toddler party game to calm the children down before they have the birthday tea or just before they go home.
Party bags are probably not necessary for the toddler age group. For my sons 1st birthday party I sent everyone home with a piece of birthday cake. The kids had eaten enough cake as it was and I didn't want to get lumbered with a birthday cake in my fridge for the rest of the week...too tempting! If you wanted to do party bags, look at a little soft or plastic toy, non toxic thick crayons. Make sure that there is nothing with small parts in it. The parents will no doubt thank you for not putting sticky sweets inside. Final Word: Don't be afraid to have some toddler party games, they are simple fun and easy to do for any toddlers party.

Just a quick note to let you know that I followed your instructions for running party games at my sons birthday party and it went really well. I did 3 games and the most popular was the obstacle course. I had 10 boys ages 6-10 and once they had played with the course I had set out they then started to create their own ideas for obstacles and rearranged the course making it harder and harder.
